It is also im por tant that pol icy state ments that aim to be ev i dence-based, such as clin i cal prac tice guide lines, use rig or ous meth ods to syn the size the pri mary ev i dence and do not over look its lim i ta tions. One re sult of the sys tem atic re view ing of ev i dence is the iden ti fi ca tion of im por tant re sid ual clin i cal un cer tain ties. Pri mary re search can then be fo cused on these ques tions. For ques tions re gard ing ther apy in psy chi a try, it will be nec es sary to un der take some large, sim ple ran dom ized tri als. Making the best avail able ev i dence readily ac ces si ble in a clin i cal set ting, how ever, re mains a sig nif i cant chal lenge.
